Your Focus Isn’t Broken — It’s Hijacked 🧠

How to reset your dopamine system and get your clarity back.

Hey,

Ever sit down to focus — and 3 minutes later you’re scrolling, snacking, or staring into the void?

You’re not lazy.
You’re not broken.
Your dopamine system is just overstimulated.

🎯 What’s actually happening?

Dopamine is your brain’s motivation currency.
It drives your attention, learning, drive, and reward.
But here’s the thing:

In the modern world, we’re flooded with micro-hits:

  • Social media swipes

  • Clickbait headlines

  • Notifications

  • Sugar, porn, streaming, endless tabs...

The result?
We desensitize.
The baseline drops, and nothing feels satisfying anymore — especially the hard but meaningful stuff like deep work, exercise, or real connection.

🔄 Your 3-Day Dopamine Reset Protocol

Here’s how to clear the noise and raise your baseline again — fast.

🚫 Day 1: Cut the Dopamine Drains

For 24h, eliminate:

  • Social media

  • Fast food/sugar

  • Video content (YouTube, Netflix etc.)

  • Stim music or background noise

  • Multitasking

Stick to stillness. Read. Walk. Be bored.
That’s the reset.

🔁 Day 2: Rewire Your Reward System

Now that the noise is gone, refocus your brain:

  • Write 3 things you want to get better at

  • Do one task that requires effort (writing, organizing, training)

  • Reward yourself only after the action

  • Go outside. Light + movement = dopamine.

🚀 Day 3: Lock It In

This is about integration. Ask:

  • What stimuli make me feel scattered?

  • What habits give me real, long-term satisfaction?

  • What boundaries do I want to keep going forward?

Make 2 permanent changes. Example:
→ “Phone on airplane mode until 10am”
→ “No dopamine stacking while working (music + caffeine + multitasking)”

🧠 Neurotweak Insight:

“Focus isn’t something you force.
It’s something you protect. Reset your dopamine, and your clarity returns.”
