Why Your Energy Crashes at 3 PM (Even on “Good” Days)
Something interesting happened to a friend of mine last Tuesday at 3:17 PM
He looked at the clock in his office
and realized he had been staring at the same email for twelve minutes without typing a single word
The day had started perfectly
He got up at 7:00 AM
went for a 20 minute walk
even made a protein-rich breakfast around 8:15
By 10:30 AM he was flying through tasks
answering calls
feeling sharp
But right after lunch at 1:00 PM the slide began
By 2:45 his eyes felt heavy
by 3:17 he was barely holding focus
despite two coffees already in his system
He laughed and said
“It is like my brain has an off switch in the afternoon”
What does that mean
Your circadian rhythm naturally dips between 2 and 4 PM
But when blood sugar and cortisol are unstable
that dip feels like a wall instead of a small slowdown
Your brain shifts resources away from focus
and you crash even though you slept enough or did “everything right”
Why this matters
If you have ever
felt your productivity vanish in the afternoon
craved sugar or caffeine just to push through
or found yourself re-reading the same line five times
you are not broken or lazy
your biology is simply misaligned with the rhythm it is supposed to follow
What I would love from you
When do you usually feel your biggest slump
Is it always at the same time of day
and what do you normally do to fight it
Reply to this email and let me know
I read every single one
