Hey,

it's Marc.

A while ago

I kept telling myself the same thing.

"I'll relax after this week."

Then another week passed.

And another.

There was always one more deadline.

One more project.

One more problem to solve.

I believed stress was temporary.

That one day

life would finally calm down.

It never did.

That's when I realized something.

Stress isn't something

that magically disappears.

Life doesn't suddenly stop

giving you challenges.

Your inbox won't become empty.

People won't stop needing you.

Unexpected problems won't stop showing up.

Waiting for a stress-free life

is like waiting for the ocean

to stop making waves.

It never happens.

The people who seem calm

aren't living easier lives.

They've simply learned

to recover

while life is still happening.

That's what your nervous system needs.

Not the absence of stress.

The presence of recovery.

Think about your heart.

It doesn't beat

at the exact same speed

all day long.

It speeds up.

Then slows down.

Back and forth.

A healthy nervous system

works the same way.

It moves

between activation

and recovery.

The problem begins

when activation never stops.

When every notification.

Every meeting.

Every worry.

Every evening.

Feels exactly the same.

Eventually

your brain forgets

how to switch off.

What helped me

I stopped waiting

for weekends.

Or vacations.

Or the perfect moment to relax.

Instead

I built small moments of recovery

into ordinary days.

A slow walk.

Five deep breaths.

Lunch without my phone.

Two minutes of silence

before opening my laptop.

Tiny moments.

But repeated every day.

And over time

they changed how I felt.

The lesson

Your nervous system

doesn't need a perfect life.

It needs regular reminders

that you're safe.

Recovery isn't something you earn

after working hard.

It's something your brain needs

to keep working well.

So if you've been feeling overwhelmed lately

don't ask:

"When will life become less stressful?"

Ask:

"Where can I create five minutes of recovery today?"

Your brain won't remember

how busy you were.

It will remember

whether you ever gave it a chance to recover.

Stay sharp
